This documentation is an integration guide to the Identity profiles that Yoti provides as part of regulated and scheme-based identity checks.

It is intended primarily for a technical audience, but there are also notes that may be useful for product designers and product managers.

Identity profiles overview

An Identity profile is the structured set of identity evidence and outcomes returned from a check. Profiles are aligned to scheme requirements (for example, DBS and Right to Work) and may also align to specific assurance expectations such as GPG45 confidence levels.

This guide focuses on the identity profiles that Yoti offers, including:

  • DBS identity profiles (Basic, and Standard/Enhanced)

  • Right to Work (RTW) identity profiles

  • Yoti Global identity profiles (for use cases outside UK-specific schemes)

Scheme alignment and assurance levels

Some schemes specify an expected level of confidence. Where applicable, Yoti supports profiles aligned to these requirements.

There are also constraints in certain schemes on which documents can be used. For example, digital RTW/RTR checks may be limited to specific document types (for example, UK or Irish passports).

In the following sections we detail the request and response structures that facilitate identity verification to the DCMS IATF, DBS and RTW/R schemes, as well as the identity profile data returned.
